Exterior Sun Shade Mounting Brackets for Outdoor/Indoor Roller Blinds (Crank/Cordless)

Mounting brackets for exterior/indoor roller shades can be installed horizontally or vertically, depending on the fixture to which the shades will be attached. After determining the installation location, use the brackets as templates to mark the hole positions for pre-drilling. If the surface is solid wood, plastic anchors are not necessary, and the brackets can be directly installed with screws. For other materials, such as concrete or stone, anchors are required.

After drilling the holes, insert the plastic anchors flush with the surface, tapping them in lightly with a hammer if needed. Then, attach the brackets to the surface using the screws.

For vertical mounting, remove the four screws from both brackets. Turn the Clutch Unit 90 degrees so the clutch eyelet hangs straight down, and turn the Idle End Unit so the opening faces away from the window. Replace the screws.

The final step is to install the bracket holders for the bungee cord and ring, which are used to secure the shade during windy conditions. These brackets should be installed at least 6 feet from the top of the shade and within reach of the bungee cord.

For an alternative clutch setup, if you want the clutch on the left side of the shade or if you're mounting the shade from the top/ceiling, you'll need to make some adjustments. To move the clutch to the left, remove the four screws, turn the Crank Unit 180 degrees, and replace the screws. No changes are needed for the Idle End Unit.

For a top/ceiling mount, remove the four screws from both brackets, turn the Crank Unit 90 degrees so the clutch eyelet hangs straight down, and turn the Idle End Unit so the opening faces away from the window. Replace the screws.

These accessories are universal for all crank-operated exterior and indoor roller shades, providing a simple way to replace or repair damaged exterior sun shades or indoor roller blinds. The kit includes stainless steel screws and plastic anchors for easy installation.
